After the general assembly and many fruitful discussions on the future of APMA at APMRS 2023 in Innsbruck, we are delighted to present the formation of our first special interest group Omics Tech Hub. The Omics Tec Hub was started by Lena Fragner, who is an expert in Metabolomics and experienced in a range of MS setups at the University Vienna. It takes place on monthly bases at 3 pm before the journal club:

Next dates and topics are:

27.3.2024 3 pm, Topic: Missing values

Organizers: Yasin El Abiead, Gerhard Dürnberger, Markus Hartl, David Hollenstein, Manuel Matzinger

Program: After a short introduction about missing values in Proteomics and Metabolomics and how to deal with them in different data sets, the stage is open for discussion.

The idea of the Omics Tech Hub is to provide an exchange forum for all interested researchers independent of their academic career. The Omics Tec Hub should be a place for discussing specific technical aspects from sample prep to data validation and is open to anyone interested: juniors, seniors, senior juniors, junior seniors, students, scientists, PIs, technical staff, lecturer, group leader, etc…

If you want to chair a topic or have ideas or wishes for future Omics Tech Hub, please contact us!

Past Omics Tech Hub Topics:

  • Hands-on FAME Analysis GC-MS (15.11.2023)
  • Stable isotopes in LC-MS based metabolomics studies (17.1.2024)
