APMA mourns the passing of Prof. Günter Allmaier, who sadly passed away after a long suffering on 16.09.2022. Günter was instrumental in establishing proteomics in Austria. His fundamental understanding of mass spectrometry-based protein analysis strengthened the networking of the few proteomicists working in Austria at that time. His work as a founding member and his presidency from 2007-2011 were honored with the Award for Life Time Achievements in 2016. With Günter Allmaier we lose a person whose heart and soul burned for science. Our thoughts are with his family.
