Topic: Development of new mass spectrometry-based (glyco)lipidomics workflows to investigate prone adiposity

Are you interested in developing mass spectrometry-based assays for gestational diabetes in a supportive research environment?

We are searching for an enthusiastic PhD student to work 3 years with us on the FWF-funded project “Prone Adiposity: Programming of neonatal adipose tissue by maternal gestational diabetes”. In this project, we investigate the effect of gestational diabetes-induced programming on health-related functionalities of fetal mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and MSC-derived adipose tissue. The specific goal of the PhD thesis is to develop new MS-based assays for gangliosides and lipid composition in fetal MSCs, adipocytes, and follow lipid changes upon insulin resistance.

The project will start 1st of March 2024. The application deadline is the 15th of January 2024.
